the way my fingers fit into the loop of a coffee cup

dropping the word certain
before the second direct object

and switching out the more common diction mug

then even second guessing whether the phrase word usage

should be substituted for that highfalutin term

that works in theory here

but probably makes most people think of

its second definition about how we pronounce words out loud

but how can I control how others think

when after all poetry should be about

just setting down the word combinations that sound right to me

precise meaning be damned

because if this format is good for anything

it’s to remind us of the benefits of confusion

that state of being where we release control

over even our own creations
